God answers prayer, now there is a Monkey in the house

As many of you know we lost our kitty cat, Reba, about a month ago, give or take. We had to put her down because of Feline AIDS. She was very ill. Of course, our son wanted to get a new cat right away. Both Brian and I said no; we were done with cats for now. Jadon said that he would just ask the Lord for a cat. We smiled and said okay, if the Lord brings you a cat like He did Reba then we will keep it, if it's healthy. We pretty much thought that was the end of it; the circumstances of us receiving Reba were extraordinary. And, just so you understand why we thought we wouldn't have another cat I'll tell you how we received Reba. About 9 years ago, long before we had Jadon or even our foster son Kiel, I was taking down and folding clothes off the clothesline. When I felt something curling around my legs, after the initial scare I looked down and saw dear, old Reba. She was healthy looking, no tags/collar, a nice shiny coat and so nice. I picked her up she snuggled in on me and had my heart at the moment. We started to feed her and she quickly became our cat. She was an outside cat because we lived in a trailer at the time and had no where to keep the litter box, ect. She was a fantastic mouser; even catching a small jackrabbit once. When we moved and had the house built then we decided to take her inside; after all several years had passed and she was getting older now. She was so good inside, she was patient with Jadon, allowing herself to be toted around and even dressed up in a doll hat and blanket one time, she never scratched anyone, although she loved to "love bite" Brian and Jeanine, she never scratched up the furniture, jumped on counters and tables, or had any other annoying habits. Plus, bonus, she had come to us spayed. So now you know why to get another cat like her to just show up on the doorstep was not likely to happen. Why do I doubt the Lord?
On Thursday last week; I went out to the garage to get something. I was greeted with saddest little meow and after the initial scare I saw the source. A little charcoal gray kitten was standing there looking sad and cold. She immediately wrapped herself around my legs (have I been here before?) and I picked her up she snuggled into me. Oh no, I thought, Brian is not going to like this. I put her down and walked into the house to announce that there was a surprise in the garage. Brian and Jadon went to head out there only to find kitten on the front porch. Jadon immediately said, the Lord answered my prayers. (Jadon has been praying faithfully for a kitty since the passing of Reba) We said lets just see, she has to be healthy remember. So, long story short, we took her on Saturday to my sister-in-law, who is our vet; she ran tests for Feline AIDS and leukemia. We also were going to start her shots and schedule a time to get her spayed, if all came out well with the tests. Good news, she is healthy, and get this, she was already spayed. We got her her shots, had her micro chipped, and took our new kitty home. We had already talked to our neighbors and she belongs to no one close to us. We only have a handful of neighbors close to us. We live in the country. She had no microchip or collar and we decided to make her ours. The Lord had answered Jadon's faithful prayers. How amazing is that? She has been a fantastic cat. Because she is younger she is more playful then Reba was. We love that though. She is sweet, loving, and so far has been great in the house. I am sure we will have a few training hurdles but she seems to have a great personality. She will be strictly inside only to avoid the Feline AIDS. She seems not to mind that. She hasn't even gone near the door since bringing her home. She is content to rule the roost so to speak. Our dog Buddy is taking kindly to her and her to him. All is well in the house and Jadon is elated. Perhaps now, the terrible sadness won't be in his voice every time he thinks of Reba; he has his "Monkey" to love. Yes, that's right her name is "Monkey" and it suits her well. She jumps, bounces, climbs, and is vocal. He named her perfectly. Brian, Jadon, and I are all so thankful for our new little friend. I am in awe at once again seeing the hand of the Lord working in our lives.
