So, even though we are persuing moving I decided I couldn't stand to keep my hands out of the dirt. I planted a garden today. I had thought I wouldn't as it is possible I will move before harvest time. But, what if I didn't and I missed out on all that fresh, organic produce. NO WAY! So, it is planted and if I move it will be a HUGE blessing to whomever buys our house. This year I am growing Roma and Early Girl tomatoes, cukes, watermelon, cantaloupe, zuchinni, crooked neck squash, spaghetti squash, and red, yellow, and green peppers. I have room for two more plats and might check out the greenhouse this weekend. Undecided. Anyway, my hands were dirty and my heart was full of the tremendous blessing of living somewhere I can garden and get out and enjoy my beautiful back yard. My porch is all deck out and festooned with flowers. It looks gorgeous. My blue flax is already up and blooming as is the heirloom mint. My wildflower garden is looking very promising. And, I believe I will have a bumper crop of strawberries this year, enough to bless the neighbors and family with fresh strawberries.
Oh, and before I forget; we have a hummingbird. He showed up last week and we immediately bought a feeder. I have been making homemade nectar for him. Which, he enjoys with relish. He is so amazing. God never ceases to amaze me through His creation and creatures. I will try to see if said Hummingbird is up for a photo op. He can be so finicky about these things.
