We went to a funeral today. It was for a lady whom I had never met but Brian is good friends with her husband and we went to show our love and support to him. I guess I take seriously the verse in the Bible that says we are to weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice. I found myself today sobbing at the sad stories and laughing with all the joy my heart could muster at the funny. I felt, by the end of the service, that I knew sweet Ettamae and I liked her. I think mostly I cried because I imagined the person's sorrow/joy that was sharing the story. My heart would break and for awhile at least I would feel so completely out of sorts if I had to say goodbye to Brian or Jadon, or anyone I love really but especially them. Anyway back to the funeral service, it was a happy kind of sorrow. She knew the Lord and no doubt is, as I write this, in His arms of love. I felt for all those she left behind sadness but also for her incredible happiness and joy. Can you imagine seeing Jesus, whom who have loved and served for over 50- 60 years, face to face? Amazing! In the end it was a perfect ceremony, it made me so grateful for the people in my life the Lord has blessed me with. It made me rejoice for a dear sister in Christ is now with our Saviour.
On another note I am truly getting spoiled with worship each night or day with Shannon. Tonight we made a campfire in the backyard and sat around it singing songs of praise to the Lord. We watched the moon rise and heard the frogs joining us. ;) I will miss Shannon when she leaves for many reasons...many, many reasons just one of which being worship. The Lord has blessed her with an amazing gift. We always have a time of prayer afterward too and it is so wonderful to hear everyone lay their burdens down at the feet of our glorious King. It is so cleansing. I love it!
Well, bed is calling. Brian says I sound like Kip on Napoleon Dynamite typing away. I am laughing hysterically at that, which lets me know I have reached the thresh hold of silliness and grouchiness is soon to follow. So, I bid you all goodnight and I'll write at ya some more tomorrow.
