A little blue

I have struggled with depression my whole life. It is something I have prayed about since it is in direct opposition to what God says we are supposed to be doing. Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice. In all things give thanks, for this is the will of God, in Christ Jesus, concerning you. (those two verses may be slightly paraphrased) God has been very faithful to give me tools to fight this depression when it hits. I feel a wave of it coming on and I am doing my best to nip it in the bud. Scripture also tells us that, anxiety in the heart of a man causes depression, for me this is this case this time around. I am anxious, the sad part is I know that being anxious about this is in direct disobedience to God too. UGH! And, so, I am trying and praying like crazy to get my heart back into submission to God in this area of my life. Please pray with me. I guess the biggest battle is knowing why and how come. I know both these things, now it is just a matter of completely giving them to the Lord and leaving them there, which is, another thing I have always struggled with.
Okay, well, onto getting the focus off of the me and onto someone else. I have good friends who have had an amazing blessing happen to them recently and it is quite a testimony to how awesome the Lord is. She has always wanted to have children and he did not. Well, she took the wonderful (and I am sure very difficult position) of not fighting him tooth and nail but taking her request to the Lord and letting Him sort it out. I am not sure how long she has been praying, but I have know of it for close to two years. I have, as they crossed my mind, prayed for the situation too. Well, I am happy to report that she is 3 months pregnant and they are thrilled about it. God is so good and so patient and so wise and does everything so well in just the right time. It was really cool and encouraging for me to see her faith and right-choosing in letting God have her problem and trusting Him for the answer and having joy through the whole thing too. Amazing!
One more thing, if you are a parent and have not read Shepherding a Child's Heart, you need too, immediately. Brian and I have been reading it together at night. We are not terribly far, just Chapter 4 or 5 I believe, but wow! I have up until this point, been very concerned about disciplinary problems I have seen in Jadon for the wrong reasons. I had more of my own image as a Mom wrapped up in it then seeing that, as Scripture says, out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, (and I suppose acts). Both Brian and I were floored about how in some things we have completely been correcting and chastising Jadon for all the wrong reasons and with the wrong goal. Right now, though, I sort of feel like, okay so how do we fix it, which I know the Lord will reveal to us too. He never leaves us unanswered, He just sometimes gives us the answer we didn't want to hear. I have a feeling, in a lot of ways, my job just got a bit harder, however, I know full well that the best jobs in the world are the hardest. And, God never takes you somewhere that He will not, then, see you through.
