Warm van, blessed heart

HUGE blessing today! Our van's heater works again. It has not worked well since we bought it. We skimped by last year. Summer hit, no heat needed, thank you! Kind of forgot about it when we had some extra fund-age and never got it fixed. When Winter hit again, oh boy, somehow the heater was in worse shape then ever. Being the ever loving and tightwad wife I am, I said, "No biggie Babe, we'll just put some blankets in the car. It will be fun, like riding in a one horse open sleigh." Blankets worked well until we hit negative temperatures. Oh no, that was not working, not at all. Brian said it was time to bite the bullet no matter the cost (or sort of) and so to the mechanic the van went...today. What a blessing! Just a plugged up heater core; a back flush and $100 later...Heat, GLORIOUS HEAT. God is so good to us. Praise Him!

While driving home in my warm van. (I love it!) I was reflecting on a funny conversation Brian and I had the other day. It was snowing gangbusters outside, it was early evening and dark outside, I said, "Oh I love to drive in the snow and look at the Christmas lights." Brian chuckled and said, "No Honey, correction, you love to ride in the car and look at lights, while I drive." I laughed so hard, he was right, he had nailed it. My pretty, little, self just loves to be chauffeured around, I hate driving, especially on bad roads. Which, is probably why I thought of this conversation, while driving on snow and ice covered roads, while gripping the wheel so tight my knuckles were white.
